At the annual meeting of the Boy Scouts of America, an announcement was made regarding a number of changes to the youth protection policy of the Boy Scouts of America.  For more information, please see the information on the Three Fires Council Website.  These changes take effect June 1, 2010. 

Shabbona District proudly invites you to "Let the Games Begin!" at the Fall District Camporee.

Ever since the Olympics began in ancient Greece, teamwork, friendly competition, and sportsmanship have been essential ingredients of a champion's success.

This fall, on the weekend of September 17th - 19th, at Camp Big Timber, the Boy Scouts of the Shabbona District will gather together for a weekend of competition featuring individual athleticism, and more importantly, the ability to work with their colleagues as a unit, while displaying the strong character traits of many past champions.

Morning rotations and afternoon activities include Olympic-themed events with an emphasis on competition and sportsmanship.

A registration form is currently available at the roundtable meetings, and online.

The registration fee is $20 per person, with a significant discout for early registration. A $10 discout per person applies if registered before September 1st (making the final cost $10 per person), and a $5 discout per person applies if registered between September 2nd and September 15th (making the final cost $15 per person), so register early.

The 2010 District Pinewood derby was a huge success. 

Thanks to all of the Adult Volunteers and Boy Scouts that helped to run the event, as well at the adults and cub scouts that produced the cars that raced.  Once the racing began, everybody forgot about the late start.
